The popular children’s races were staged in conjunction with last Sunday’s Andy Reading 10k held in Chesterton. There was a very close finish in the boy’s 1km race with just two seconds separating the top three finishers. Adam Smith representing Langford Village School won in 3mins 47secs just one second ahead of Timothy Jones (Bicester AC) with a further second back to Morgan Attrill (Kings Meadow School) in 3rd place.

Ines Piaget – Thompson had a slightly more comfortable win in the girl’s race run over the same distance with a 4mins 1secs clocking. She was followed home by the Couzens twins representing Bure Park School with Bella (4mins 6secs) getting the better of Anna by two seconds. The Primary School trophy also went to the Bure Park School.

There was a clean sweep for Bicester AC in the under 13 boy’s race held over a 3km course with a comprehensive winner in Freddie Taylor (12mins 9secs). He had a 15 second margin over Michael Cadle with Edward Jolliffe a further 18 secs back in 3rd.
