A small number of Bicester AC runners made the journey to Reading for last weekend’s Berkshire Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire Cross Country Championships. Star of the day for Bicester was Oliver Conway competing in his first season of cross country for the club. Conway finished an excellent 6th in the 40 strong under 13 boy’s race clocking 11mins 04 secs just 31 seconds behind the winner. This represented a step forward from his debut run overturning the form with several runners who were in front of him on that occasion.
Bicester had three runners in the under 15 boy’s race and clubmates Samuel Worfolk and Michael Alborzpour enjoyed a close tussle. In the end Worfolk just got the better of battle of the teammates with 25th place (12 mins 53secs). Alborzpour was just three seconds behind in 27th place. The Bicester placings were completed by Jamie Conway who was 38th in 13mins 38secs.
Bicester’s only female finisher on the day was Amy Willis who finished 32nd in the under 13 girl’s race clocking 13mins 37secs.
