A small number of Bicester AC athletes took part in the Oxfordshire School Championships held at Horspath on Sunday 12th June.  Millie Couzens once again excelled in the under 13 age group with two fantastic performances, the highlight of which was first place in the long jump with a big new personal best leap of 4.46m.  Not only was this a national grade 2 performance but also places her in the top 30 of the national rankings for this event.  Couzens was also in good form in the 800 metres, an event she has excelled in this season, with a winning performance of 2mins 33.7secs.

Ben West was agin in good form in the under 17 middle distance races.  West finished runner up in the 800 metres clocking 2mins 9.1secs.  And West was not far away from his best in the 1500 metres as again he took 2nd clocking 4mins 20.7secs.  Molly Acton ran a season’s best in the under 15 girl’s 800 metres winning the B event in 2mins 32.0secs.

There was a superb win for Tom Couzens in the under 15 high jump clearing 1.58m and he also finished 2nd in the B 800 metres (2m 24.9s).  Georgie Sanderson was 3rd in the B discus (16.52m) and filled the same spot in the B shot (7.37m).  Tom Gould finished 2nd in the under 19 men’s 1500 metres (4m 56s) and Amy Gould was 2nd in the under 15 girl’s 1500 metres (5m 39.9s).
