A strong team of 36 athletes represented Bicester Athletic Club at the final sportshall fixture of the season at Windrush Leisure Centre, Witney.
The Under 11 Girls team started the day holding a slender 1 point lead in the overall standings over Witney. They we in fabulous form with Katie Ford, Emilia Sims, Abigail D’Silva and Erin McDonnell taking 1st place in the obstacle relay. Millie Couzens, Georgie Cordy, Amelia Cox and McDonnell also secured 1st place in the 1 lap races. Couzens and Rushani Arumugham also claimed wins in the 3 lap races and the vertical jump with Cordy and Arumugham victorious in the chest push. The girls finished the day with excellent 1st places in the 4×1 lap relays claiming 1st place overall on the day and 1st in the season long competition. Millie Couzens claimed the gold medal in the individual competition and Rushani Arumugham the silver.
The Under 11 Boys also had a spectacular end to their season. The quartet of Josiah Edwards-Giraud, Charlie Shaw, Ellis Griffiths-Brown and Edward Jolliffe claimed 1st place in the 1 lap races and speed bounce events. Thomas Kavanagh and Sean Lock also claimed 1st place finishes in the vertical jump and 3 lap races. Seion Alexander, Morgan Attrill and Samuel Worfolk ran superbly to help the team finish 1st in the 4×1 lap relays and finish the season in 1st place overall. Josiah Edwards-Giraud and Thomas Kavanagh were also rewarded in the individual competition with gold and bronze medals respectively.
It was a close competition for the Under 13 Girls. Holding just a 4 point lead over Radley, and a 7 point advantage over Banbury in the season long competition. The team started strongly with Amy Gould, Isabelle Kinsella-Miles, Alice Daniel and Holly Griffiths-Brown taking 2nd place in the obstacle relay. Daniel and Kinsella-Miles took 1st place in the vertical jump as did Gould and Griffiths-Brown in the 4 lap races. Lauren Garside and Orlaith Lyford took 3rd place finishes in a close 2 lap event and the shot putt. The Under 13 Girls finished the season in 1st place in the team competition. Holly Griffiths-Brown and Alice Daniel won gold and bronze in the individual competition.
The Under 13 Boys finished their season in style with 1st place finishes in all the individual events. Harvey Attrill and Tom Couzens ran superbly for 1st place in the 2 lap races as did Olly Lewis and William Sims in the 4 lap event. Lewis and Fergus Jones were 1st in the vertical jump as were Couzens and Sims in the standing triple jump and Attrill and Lewis in the shot putt. The boys finished the competition and the season with a fantastic 4×2 lap relay run for 1st place on the day and in the season long competition. In the individual competition Fergus Jones claimed the silver with Harvey Attrill the bronze.
In a strong competition for the Under 15 Girls Olivia Stock finished in 1st place in the standing long jump, 4th in the speed bounce and 5th in the 2 lap races. Rhiannon Penfold finished in 3rd place in the shot putt. Amy Chapman and Emma Ford competed superbly throughout the day and helped the girls team to an excellent 2nd place in the 4×2 lap relay. The Under 15 Girls finished the season in 3rd place overall with Olivia Stock earning the bronze medal in the individual competition.
In their final sportshall competition the Under 15 Boys performed superbly. Connor Wilce claimed 1st place finishes in the 2 lap, standing triple jump and shot putt. Tom Gould claimed 2nd places in the standing long jump and speed bounce along with 3rd in the 4 lap races. Zak Wilce finished 3rd in the standing triple jump and speed bounce along with 4th in the 2 lap races. Alex Jack finished 3rd in the 2 lap races and claimed 4th place in the shot putt and standing long jump. The boys then ran an excellent 4×2 lap relay for 2nd place and a 2nd place finish overall. Connor Wilce earned the silver medal in the individual competition.
The Team finished the season coming away with 6 winners plates and 10 individual medals.
