In the 2017 WTC (World Throwers Club) European Hammer Decathlon Championships (organised by MMTG, the Midlands (British) Masters Throwers Group), held at the Moorways Stadium in Derby on Friday 13th October and Saturday 14th October 2017, David Kuester of Bicester AC and Oxford City AC Veterans, won GOLD with 5,117 points, in the M70+ age group.  Guest competitor, Barry Hawksworth equalled the World record for this event with 7,803 points.
