Bicester AC Awards Evening- Presentation to Dave Kuester

A special presentation was made to Dave Kuester at the Bicester AC Awards Evening.  Club Chairman handed over a cheque of £200 from the club as a contribution towards Dave’s forthcoming trip to Australia.  Dave has been selected for Great Britain to compete in the World Master Athletic Championships in Perth Australia starting in November.  Dave will be competing in two events, the weight pentathlon and the javelin which is his first event on 1 November 2016.  Dave is currently ranked in the top 10 in tis event for his age group (70 to 75).

Dave has been competing in athletics for nearly 60 years and has been a coach for 40 of those.  Many of Bicester’s younger athletes have been coached in the throwing events, including a young Freddie Curtis who is now one of the UK’s top javelin throwers.  Dave actually started his athletic career as a hurdler.  Dave’s personal best of 72 metres would have placed him in the top 5 of contemporary British throwers.  The club wish him all the best in the world championships.
