Welcome To Bicester AC

 

Founded in 1982 we are predominantly a junior Track & Field and Cross Country club but can cater for all ages from 8 years old, incorporating all abilities and both sexes.  You can be competitive or just join to keep fit or for relaxation. If you have always wanted to have a go but have never quite taken the plunge, then why not come and join us? Non-athletes who would like to get involved in administration, coaching or officiating are also very welcome.

Oxon Sportshall League – Wheatley (19th Nov)

Bicester AC took the 2nd round of the Sportshall League fixture held recently in Wheatley by storm as they won four out of the six team events finishing 2nd and 3rd in the other two. Chiltern XC League – Tear Drop Lakes MK (11th Nov)

Bicester AC’s athletes were in fine form in the latest round of the Chiltern Cross Country League held last Saturday at Teardrop Lakes Milton Keynes.  Nine Bicester athletes managed to finish in the top half of finishers in this very competitive league competition.  The very much in form Leo Blyton was again competitive in the under 13 boy’s event contested over 3.1km.  Blyton was always at the front end of the field picking up places in the closing stages to finish a superb 4th...

Oxon XC League – Cornbury (5th Nov)

Round 1 of the winter long run Oxfordshire Cross Country league took place last Sunday at a new venue, Cornbury Park.  The event was jointly hosted by Bicester AC and Witney RR and the event hosts had a scare on Saturday as a deluge required a quick change of course and location of car park which allowed the event on Sunday to proceed.  The new course was described by runners as enjoyable but tough. Bicester AC hosted the first of five Oxfordshire Sportshall League fixtures last Sunday at Bicester and Ploughley Sports Centre.  Bicester AC made a fine start to the competition with wins in the under 11 boys and under 15 girl’s team competition.  Bicester were runners up in the under 13 girl’s and under 15 boy’s competition and 3rd in the under 11 girl’s and under 13 boy’s competition. Oxford Half Marathon (15th Oct)

Ben Groves completed his metamorphosis from talented jumper to endurance athlete as he took on last Sunday’s Oxford Half Marathon.  Groves ended the track and field season at the head of the rankings for the high, long and triple jumps as well as the 400m.  However, Groves, still an under 20, has also competed very effectively during the summer in the Motavation road running race series.  However, the distances of that event ranged from 4 to 5 miles only a fraction of the Oxford Half Marathon...

Chiltern XC League – Keysoe (14th Oct)

Oxon & Bucks Midweek Open – Horspath (13th Sept)

There was one final hurrah for Bicester’s track and field athletes at the last Oxon and Bucks midweek open meeting of the year held last Wednesday at Horspath.  Georgia Bower managed to edge a national grade 3 standard in the under 15 girl’s long jump with a new best of 4.77m which was also an EA level 7 performance and is the leading mark in the Oxfordshire under 15 girl rankings for long jump.  Bower finished 3rd in the open event, a mixed competition open to all ages with...

Oxon Junior League – Abingdon (3rd Sept)

Bicester AC contested what was a very competitive final heat of their Oxfordshire Junior League match held last Sunday at Tilsley Park, Abingdon.  The hot conditions made it very tricky for competitors in the distance events.  There were 5 A string wins for Bicester athletes however Bicester’s most notable win on the day came in the quad competition for under 11 athletes.
