Welcome To Bicester AC

 

Founded in 1982 we are predominantly a junior Track & Field and Cross Country club but can cater for all ages from 8 years old, incorporating all abilities and both sexes.  You can be competitive or just join to keep fit or for relaxation. If you have always wanted to have a go but have never quite taken the plunge, then why not come and join us? Non-athletes who would like to get involved in administration, coaching or officiating are also very welcome.

Mota Vation 3 – Coombe (27th June)

Bicester AC excelled themselves in the latest Motavation road race held at Coombe.  Run over an approximate 3.8 mile distance Owen Stocker led the team home with a sub 22minute clocking (21mins 22secs) and his best ever Motavation placing of 14th in a field of 374 athletes, which also placed him 3rd place in the under 19 men’s event.  Joshua Moran also produced his highest ever Motavation placing in 23rd with a superb clocking of 22mins 01secs where he was also the 5th under 19 male finisher. ...

Heart of England League – Daventry (23rd Jun)

It was a case of quality over quantity again at Bicester AC’s Sunday Heart of England Division 3 fixture held at Daventry.  Despite having only 10 athletes to cover 6 age groups from under 13 and above the team managed 5th place in no small part helped by another strong performance from the under 11 boys who won their team competition again.  However this was a record day for club records being broken with no less than four records falling. ESAAA Midland Combined Events Champs – Mansfield (22nd & 23rd Jun)

Bicester AC had two athletes selected to represent Oxfordshire in the ESAA English Schools Regional Combined Events – Midlands held in Mansfield last weekend.  Making his debut at a combined event Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah finished a superb 2nd out of the 13 competing athletes with a final total of 2,479 points which was just 55 points behind the winning score.  This means that he qualifies for the National English Schools Combined event in Stoke to be held in September.  His...

Oxford City Midweek Open – Horspath (19th June)

Four Bicester AC athletes took part in the recent Oxford City AC Evening Open Track and Field event.  William Cleaver was again in superb form in the high jump competition which was open to all age groups.  Cleaver not only managed 4th place out of the 12 competitors but leapt to a superb clearance of 1.45m which was an under 13 boy’s EA PB level 8 mark.  Cleaver also competed in the shot where he also finished 4th with a putt of 6.55m. Youth Development League – Leamington (16th Jun)

Bicester AC competed in their last of the season UK Development League Midland North East C match held recently at Leamington.  From a team perspective lack of numbers took their toll as they finished 4th on 149 points.  This was Bicester AC’s highest league position of the season but still left them in 5th place in the final standings.  However there were some fine individual performances with more EA PB level 5 performances and above at this match and a total of 23 personal...

Watford Graded Open Meeting – Watford (12th Jun)

Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah lowered his personal best still further in a recent open graded meeting held at Watford.  He was put in a competitive race with several older athletes.  Although finishing 8th he was less than 2 seconds behind the second placed runner.  His clocking of 2mins 6.01secs was not only a new personal best but was just over a second slower than the highest EA PB level which is a 9.  This also inches closer to the long held under 15 boy’s club record which currently stands...

Oxon Schools T & F Championships – Horspath (8th Jun)

Six Bicester AC athletes competed in the recent Oxfordshire Schools Track and Field Championships held at Horspath.  There was a win for Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah in what was a competitive field for the under 15 boy’s 800m.  Appiahkorang-Mensah produced an EA PB level 7 time of 2mins 8.1secs.  He doubled up to finish 2nd in the 8m hurdles in a new personal best time of 12.80secs which was an EA PB level 6 performance. Heart of England League – Worcester (2nd June)

Bicester AC finished a commendable 4th out of the 8 competing teams in the first round of their Heart of England League track and field fixture held last Sunday in Worcester.  This included a win in the under 11 boy’s category as well as 3rd places in both the under 15 girl and boy categories.  This event saw some of Bicester’s best individual performances of the season so far including 9 A string wins, 34 new personal bests and 9 EA PB level performances of level 5 and above....
