Founded in 1982 we are predominantly a junior Track & Field and Cross Country club but can cater for all ages, incorporating all abilities and both sexes.  You can be competitive or just join to keep fit or for relaxation. If you have always wanted to have a go but have never quite taken the plunge, then why not come and join us? Non-athletes who would like to get involved in administration, coaching or officiating are also very welcome.

Oxon & Bucks Midweek Open – Horspath (3rd August)

Five Bicester AC athletes contested last Wednesday’s Oxon and Bucks Midweek Open Track and Field meeting held at Horspath. Thomas Styles made his first ever track appearance in the 1500 metres and faced 11 other competitors in his heat including younger brother Edward. As is normal with open graded meetings there was a mixture of age groups competing.  Styles was not only the leading under 15 boy finisher but was first home in the race clocking 4mins 15.02secs which was over 8 seconds...

Heart of England – Corby (31st July)

Bicester AC’s athletes competed superbly in the final round of their division 3 Heart of England league match held last Sunday in Corby.  Nine national grade performances were set as well as 25 new personal bests. Lincoln Jones led the charge in the under 15 boy’s competition.  He set a superb new best in the long jump with his first ever competitive leap of over 5 metres (5.35m).  Not only did this win the competition but it was also a national grade 3 performance.  On the...

Motavation – Coombe (28th July)

The latest round of the Motavation road race series organised by Kidlington Athletics Club took place at Coombe last Thursday with three athletes from Bicester AC.  It has been a successful series for Edward Jolliffe who has featured well in the under 19 men’s standings.  Once again Jolliffe competed strongly in the 255 strong field taking 22nd place.  He was 2nd under 19 male finisher clocking 24mins 47secs for the approximately 4 mile course.  Anna Jolliffe nearly made it into the top 20% of...

Derek Crookes Under 13 inter counties – Kingston upon Thames (24th July)

Three Bicester AC athletes were selected to compete for Oxfordshire in the Derek Crookes Under 13 girls and boys inter county track and field meeting held in Kingston on Sunday.  Competition was fierce but all three athletes equipped themselves. Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah is having a superb first season of track and field and he was picked for three events.  He produced a superb effort to finish 3rd out of the 8 finishers in the B string 800 metres clocking 2mins 29.92secs.  He...

BAC Internal Club Competition – The Bicester School (16th July)

There were some excellent performances in what was a well contested club quad competition on a balmy Saturday at Bicester School.  The competition was split into age groups and athletes accumulated points over 4 events based on quad competition rules.  Quad events for under 11s are a 75m run, 600m run, long jump and vortex with the older athletes replacing the 75m with 100m and 600m for the 800m. Cheltenham Midsummer Open (13th July)

Two Bicester AC athletes made the journey to Cheltenham for the Cheltenham Midsummer Open Track and Field Meeting.  Both contested heats of the 3,000 metres.  Anna Jolliffe finished 7th in her heat but produced the fastest time of the 4 under 17 women who competed on the night.  Jolliffe’s time of 10mins 50.8secs was a season’s best.  Edward Jolliffe contested the fastest of the three heats finishing 10th in what was also a season’s best time of 10mins 9.8secs.     Results

South of England Under 20/Senior Inter County Championships – Horspath (9th July)

Two Bicester AC athletes were selected for Oxfordshire to compete in the recent South of England Under 20/Senior Inter County Championships held at Horspath.  Samuel Rayson competed well in the under 20 men’s high finishing 3rd with a best leap of 1.73m which was just 2cms off his season’s best.  Although an under 20 Ben Groves was picked to represent Oxfordshire in the senior event and did well to finish 4th with a clearance of 1.70m. Motavation – Coombe (30th June)

Edward and Anna Jolliffe continue to perform well in the summer Motavation road race series hosted by Kidlington Athletics Club.  The third race of the series was staged recently in Coombe over a 3.9 miles circuit.  258 finished the latest leg and the Jolliffe siblings again placed well in their respective age categories.  Edward Jolliffe finished 25th out of the 258 finishers and was 2nd under 19 male finisher clocking 23mins 09secs.  Anna Jolliffe was 62nd clocking 25mins 04secs.  She was...
