Welcome To Bicester AC

 

Founded in 1982 we are predominantly a junior Track & Field and Cross Country club but can cater for all ages from 8 years old, incorporating all abilities and both sexes.  You can be competitive or just join to keep fit or for relaxation. If you have always wanted to have a go but have never quite taken the plunge, then why not come and join us? Non-athletes who would like to get involved in administration, coaching or officiating are also very welcome.

Heart of England League – Worcester (2nd June)

Bicester AC finished a commendable 4th out of the 8 competing teams in the first round of their Heart of England League track and field fixture held last Sunday in Worcester.  This included a win in the under 11 boy’s category as well as 3rd places in both the under 15 girl and boy categories.  This event saw some of Bicester’s best individual performances of the season so far including 9 A string wins, 34 new personal bests and 9 EA PB level performances of level 5 and above....

Oxford City Midweek Open – Horspath (22nd May)

Six Bicester AC athletes took part in the Oxford City Midweek Open meeting held on 22 May.  The wet conditions were hardly conducive to fast times.   There was a personal best for Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah who finished 5th in heat 3 of the 100m (12.97secs) clocking his first ever sub 13 secs 100m time.  He was also 2nd out of the 4 competing athletes in the 80m hurdles clocking 13.48secs.  Georgia Bower has been in superb form recently in the long jump and she again...

Youth Development League – Nuneaton (19th May)

Bicester AC improved their points tally in round 2 of the UK Development League lower age group Midland North and East Division C fixture held last Sunday at Nuneaton.  Fielding a total of 11 athletes Bicester finished on 139 points.   Wins proved hard to come by with just 4 A string wins and three of those were from one athlete.  Bicester AC was not able to field an under 13 girl’s team. Oxfordshire T & F Championships – Horspath (12th & 13th May)

To turn an old saying on its head it was a case of ‘never mind the width feel the quality’ for Bicester AC at last weekend’s Oxfordshire Track and Field Championships held at Horspath.  Somehow the 11 Bicester athletes managed to amass an impressive number of personal and season bests to collect three championships medals and a further eight second and third placings in the Spring sunshine. Town and Gown 10k – Oxford (13th May)

Four Bicester AC athletes contested the very popular annual Town and Gown 10km that took place last Sunday in Oxford.  No less than 4,359 runners finished this year’s event and Bicester AC athletes were prominent at the front end of the field.  Isaac Moran, hampered by a niggling knee injury during the cross country season, has shown something of a revival in recent outings.  Running in his first ever competitive 10km race and as under 20 one of the younger athletes in the event, Moran ran a...

Bannister Mile (6th May)

Leo Blyton was Bicester AC’s sole representative in the Bannister mile races that took place on Monday.  This series of races is named after Sir Roger Bannister who became the first person in the world to run the mile in under 4 minutes.  Blyton took part in the under 15 boy’s race which was held on the Iffley road track, the venue of Bannister’s sub 4 minute performance.  Blyton’s race, the Pat Fitzgerald Mile, was run as the BMC under 15 championships.  The British Miler’s Club (BMC) stage a...

Oxon Track & Field League – Horspath (28th Apr)

The first round of the Oxfordshire League took place last Sunday at a distinctly Autumnal Horspath.  It was a very successful day for the Bicester AC’s under 11 boy’s team as they provided both the individual first and second individuals as well as the team winners in the quad competition.  Bicester also provided the individual and team winners in the under 9 girl’s competition. Mota Vation – Charlton on Otmoor (25th Apr)

A phalanx of yellow and red was prominent at the front of last Thursday’s opening heat in the Summer long Kidlington Runner’s Motavation road race series held at Charlton on Otmoor.  Anna Jolliffe was the first lady finisher and in doing so become the first Bicester AC winner of a competitive lady’s road race this Century.  The Motavation series is the premier road running series in Oxfordshire and the lady’s race, which is run in conjunction with the men’s event, attracted 198...
