Three Bicester AC athletes competed in the last race in the AWT cross country series held in Northwood last Saturday. This was the first race for runners since the end of December.

All three Bicester athletes finished in the top ten of their respective races, to complete what has been a very successful series for all three athletes.  Anna Jolliffe maintained the very high standard that she set in previous rounds and was rewarded with a splendid victory in the under 15 girl’s race.  Jolliffe beat 37 other girl athletes to clock 16mins 33secs over the 4km course.  This performance enabled Jolliffe to claim the under 15 girl’s series title.

Finley Colverson-Martin was also in fine form before the enforced break and he confirmed the promise of his previous round effort with an excellent 4th placing out of the 41 competing boy athletes clocking 14mins 54secs for the 4km distance.  Colverson-Martin finished a very creditable third place in the final under 15 boy standings in his first full cross country season for the club.

And in the under 17 men’s race Edward Jolliffe competed well for 8th Place in the 29 strong field and 5th place in the final standings.  Joliffe clocked 18mins 28secs for the 5km distance which was just over a minute down on the winning effort.
