There was a small contingent of Bicester AC athletes taking part in the recent Oxford City open event staged on Sunday 24th August at Horspath. There were seasonal bests for Connor Wilce in the jumping events. Wilce was over the magic mark of 12 metres in winning the under 17 triple jump (12.06m) defeating brother Zac (9.86m) in the process. The positions were repeated in the long jump as Connor leapt to 5.63m with Zac jumping 4.60m.

There was a seasonal best for Lauren Garside in the under 13 girls shot putt as she finished a fine 2nd (6.22m), she also finished 6th in the 100 metres (15.52) but in the long jump her 3.60m was just beaten by teammate Lucy Stowell. Stowell’s mark of 3.62 metres was a season’s best and Stowell also competed in both the 100 metres (17.04s) and 800 metres (3m 18.53s).
