Seven Bicester AC athletes were picked to represent Oxfordshire at Saturday’s national inter county cross country championships held in Loughborough.  One of the best Oxfordshire team performances on the day was in the under 17 men’s race run over 6km.  The team finished 8th out of the 37 completed teams and Oxfordshire’s third scorer was Bicester’s Finlay Colverson Martin.  Colverson Martin produced his best performance in a major national cross country competition finishing 50th in the 256 strong field clocking 24mins 12secs for the 6km course.   

Anna Jolliffe, representing Oxfordshire in the under 17 woman’s race, produced her highest inter county cross country placing to finish in the top 100 in 87th place clocking 23mins 07secs for the 5km circuit.  Jolliffe was Oxfordshire’s second team scorer with the team finishing 18th out of the 39 completed teams.  Bicester’s Jenny Critchley was also representing Oxfordshire in this race and finished 150th in 24mins 25secs.

Edward Jolliffe also made the scoring Oxfordshire team in the under 20 men’s race run over 8km.  Jolliffe finished 118th (33mins 35secs), his highest national inter county finish and was 4th scorer in the Oxfordshire team that finished 10th.  Bicester AC’s Ben Groves running up an age group accompanied Jolliffe in the under 20 men’s race and did well to complete.   

Bicester’s two other runners representing Oxfordshire were performing in their maiden national inter county events.  Lewie Harris finished close to the top half of finishers in the under 13 boy’s event in 159th clocking 13mins 21secs for the 3km distance.  And Tabitha Bosley was 220th in the under 13 girl’s event also run over a 3km course (14mins 59secs).
