13 Bicester AC runners took part in the final round of the Chiltern Cross Country League took place last Saturday at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, run in windy conditions. Anna Jolliffe completed what was a consistent season of runs with 15th in the combined division 1 and 2 race which translated to 4th place amongst the division 2 finishers clocking 11mins 21secs in the under 11 girls run over the plus 2,500 metre course. This was good enough for equal third in the final standings with the team taking 2nd overall position. Imogen Cox again ran well in support finishing 30th in 12mins 07secs.
Samuel Worfolk ran a splendid 2nd in the division 2 under 17 men’s race clocking 20mins 22secs for the 5,500 plus metre course. Worfolk was 18th in the combined race.
Owen Stocker has made giant strides this year and he ran right up to his best form finishing 27th in the under 13 boy’s race (6th Division 2 runner) in 10mins 46secs for the 2,500 plus metre course. Robert Charlton has improved steadily throughout the season and ran well for 63rd in 12mins 07secs. The Bicester runners were completed by Sami Singer (75th in 12mins 40secs) and Django La Porte (78th in 12mins 64secs).
The under 15 boys matched the effort of the Bicester under 13 girls finishing 2nd overall team in the final division 2 standings with Edward Jolliffe leading the team home in in 27th position in the combined race (16mins 17secs) run over 4,000 plus metres. He was supported by Michael Alborzpour who was 45th (18mins 03secs).
Thomas Auty also produced a big improvement on earlier Chiltern League efforts placing in the first half of finishers in the under 11 boy’s race run over 2,000 metres (39th in 6mins 40secs). Bicester had two runners in the under 11 girl’s race run over 2,000 metres with Maya Evans placing 65th (7mins 43secs) and Isobel Smith 68th (7mins 49secs). And Lucy Montague gained valuable experience in the under 15 girl’s race finishing 62nd in 21mins 49secs over the 3,500 metre plus distance.
