With the Oxfordshire League being held the following day, Bicester AC fielded a somewhat depleted team for last Saturday’s Chiltern Cross Country League. Round 3 took place in Stopsley, Luton which has hosted the English Cross-Country Championships.

Bicester have fielded a strong under 15 boy’s team throughout this year’s competition. Prior to this round they were 3rd team in the overall division 2 standings. However, with leading team Oxford City AC not competing in this round, Bicester took full advantage by upgrading to overall 2nd team in the standings after three rounds.  As in the previous two rounds in this competition Noah Gulvin led the team in 18th clocking 16mins 19secs for the 4.2km distance. Gulvin also finished high up amongst the division 2 race finishing 5th out of the 28 finishers. Thomas Styles was not far behind in 21st with 16mins 28secs and was 7th division 2 finisher. Owen Stocker completed the team finishers in 31st place (11th division 2 finisher) out of the 61 finishers (17mins 0secs)

Edward Styles was competing in only his second competitive race for the club.  As in the previous round Styles finished in the top half of the under 11 boy’s race in 15th place clocking 7mins 53secs for the 1.9km circuit.  Arran Critchley took in the gruelling senior men’s race and showed improvement on previous rounds finishing in 341st place clocking 55mins 41secs for the 9.5km distance.
