Four Bicester AC athletes made the journey to Luton last Saturday for the third round of the Chiltern Cross Country League.  The Bicester turnout was down on previous matches due to the clash with the Oxfordshire Cross Country League scheduled for the following day.  The four runners that did make the journey also competed on the Sunday.

Owen Stocker may well have had Sunday in mind placing 12th (18mins 26secs) out of the 49 finishers in the under 17 men’s race run over a 5.5km course.  Stocker was 6th in the division 2 race and lies 6th in the individual rankings after three events.  It is quite close at the top of the standings with Stocker only three points off 2nd place.  In the absence of Noah Gulvin, who was racing at Cirencester,  and Isaac Moran due to illness, the team was smaller than normal but Bicester’s other runner, Joshua Moran, ran well to finish 27th just over a minute slower than Stocker with a 19mins 29secs clocking.  Although the team was only 4th on the day they lie 2nd in the under 17 men standings after three events.

Kate O Malley continues to enjoy a good campaign in the Chiltern League and she put in another spirted display to finish 30th out of the 54 finishers (18mins 24secs) in the under 15 girl’s race contested over a 4.2km course.  Although she was 6th division 2 finisher on the day she continues to feature highly in the overall standings lying in 4th place after three events.

Leanne Stocker continues to show up well in the senior lady’s competition and she again performed well to finish 91st (26mins 35secs) out of the 199 finishers contested over 5.5km.  Stocker was 21st senior lady in the division 2 race and lies in 8th place in the division 2 vet 45 lady category after three events.

Although not competing on the day two Bicester athletes hold prominent placings in the division 2 standings after three events.  Anna Jolliffe lies in 2nd place in the under 20 lady rankings and Leo Blyton is in 3rd place in the under 13 boy rankings.
