Just two Bicester AC athletes made the journey to Luton for the recently held third round of the Chiltern Cross Country League.  With an Oxfordshire League fixture the following day most athletes decided to keep their powder dry for that event.  There was another big field in the mob senior race contested over an approximate 6 mile circuit.  Bicester’s Owen Stocker has made a strong start to the season.  He finished 38th in the 312 strong field, which was a controlled effort given that he was contesting the Oxfordshire race the following day.  Stocker clocked 35mins 23secs,   still good enough for 7th in the division 2 senior race which numbered 93 finishers.  Stocker continue to place well in the under 20 men’s standings and lies in 4th place after three events.  Bicester AC also continue to hold a commanding lead in the under 20 men’s team standings.  Bicester’s other runner on the day was Owen’s younger brother Ivan, who was also having the first of two runs over the weekend.  He contested the under 13 boy’s race and finished 73rd in a competitive field clocking 14mins 56secs for the approximate 3km course.  Ivan Stocker is 21st in the under 13 boy’s standings after three events.
