The third round of the Chiltern Cross Country League took place last Saturday in Luton. With several Bicester AC runners opting to run in the following day’s Oxfordshire Cross Country League event, the turnout was inevitably down on previous fixtures.
Anna Jolliffe opted to run at Luton and was rewarded with a fine run as she took 14th place in the 41 strong under 17/20 woman’s mob (combined division 1 and division 2) race with 20mins 42secs for the approximate 5km distance. She finished 4th amongst the division 2 finishers and this event leaves her in 3rd place in the division 2 standing after three events.
There were three Bicester athletes in the under 17 men’s race, all of whom competed in the following day’s Oxfordshire League event. Owen Stocker was Bicester’s best finisher in 22nd clocking 20mins 10secs for the approximate 6km distance. This leaves Stocker in 6th place in the division 2 standings after three events. Isaac Moran ran well for 30th (21mins 29secs) and he was followed by twin brother Joshua who was 33rd in 22mins 10secs. Bicester lie 4th in the team standings after three events.
There were two Bicester runner in the under 13 girl’s race run over the approximate 3km distance. Both competed in the following day’s Oxfordshire League event. Kate O Malley finishing 35th in 13mins 57secs. And there was an improved effort from Leanne Stocker who was 39th in 15mins 26secs. Cameron Waters also ran in both weekend events finishing 35th in the under 11 boy’s in 8mins 52secs for the approximate 2km distance. And Arran Critchley continues to climb up the finishing order in the senior men’s category as he placed 298th for the approximate 9km distance with 49mins 26secs.
