We pleased to announce we are ready to start training.
Today we sent out the first batch of training invites through Teamer, if you haven’t received anything please login to your teamer account and go to Events, once in events you will see all the training sessions listed and they show your status or if you invited. Week 1 will be U15s and up, week 2 U13 and week 3 U11 & 9s. Training will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all age groups, so please respond to both days and accept both days if you are available.
In my previous email I asked you to respond by the Sunday for Tuesday and the Tuesday for the Thursday sessions. But on reflection, to enable us to plan the groups and give everyone a chance to train as often as possible can you please respond by the Sunday before for both Tuesday and Thursday sessions.
Please remember the Teamer invite is to register availability, attendance will be notified by a separate email.
Once we have allocated groups (1 coach 5 athletes) we will send an email inviting you to a particular training session, the email will include arrival time, collection time plus other information.
Please do not turn up at a training session if you haven’t received an email inviting you. If we are not expecting you, you will not be able to train.
To keep numbers to a minimum there will be NO spectators at training sessions. Parents need to drop off their athlete and then leave the site and only return at your collection time or unless you are contacted by someone from the club.
Thank you for your understanding and support of Bicester AC.
Stay safe and well, we look forward to seeing you soon.
Our return to training team has been working extremely hard to plan for a return to training, although heavily restricted. I’m pleased to report we are extremely close to being able to resume limited training activities. A Teamer invite will come out tomorrow titled “Training Interest” please respond to this whether you are or are not interested in coming to some of our summer training sessions, these responses are to give us an indication of who is looking to train and what sort of numbers we might have in each age group.
We are aware on some occasions members don’t receive Teamer invite emails, therefore we recommend you login to your Teamer account regularly.
What will happen:
1. For each training session we will send out a Teamer invite. This invite is so we can see who is available for that session. To register your availability for that session you must respond by the Sunday evening for Tuesday sessions and Tuesday evenings for Thursday sessions. Please note: all age groups will be considered for both Tuesday and Thursday training sessions.
2. Once resources and groups have been determined those athletes able to train at a session will receive an email inviting them to the session. The email will include arrival and collection times along with other information regarding our social distancing measures. It is very important that the athletes read and understand this information before each session they attend.
Initially we will run a single session each day but we will continually review what we are doing, in time we may be able run two sessions per day similar to sportshall.
Please remember we are all volunteers, doing our best in difficult times. It is our intention to give everyone who wants to train the opportunity to train.
I hope you and your families are well and safe.
England Athletics updated their guidance on the 1st June to allow outdoor athletics activities to resume in small groups, if it’s safe to do so. We are currently seeking permission from the Bicester school to use the site again. Once we have the go ahead the training coordinators, welfare officer and myself will visit the school to look at how we implement the guidance and restrictions, we will also carry out the necessary risk assessments, once this is all complete we will be able to resume some athletics training.
We will endeavour to give everyone who wants to train the opportunity to train. There is no pressure on any member to train during this period.
In the meantime, can you all check that you can access your Teamer accounts. If you don’t have a Teamer account or you are having trouble with Teamer please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please be patient with us, we are trying to resume activities as safely and quickly as we can. If you have any concerns again please do not hesitate to contact me or our welfare officer Emma Garside at https://www.bicesterac.co.uk/contact-forms/welfare-officer-contact/
Stay safe and well.
I hope you and your families are safe and well. I also hope you are staying active and have been entertained by the events in the Gould house, thank you to the Gould family and thank you to Terrice for producing the circuit sessions.
I just want to give you an update. England Athletics has now issued guidance stating that clubs should avoid activities that require close contact until the 31st of May. In line with this we will not resume our activities until at least the 1st of June, unless this guidance changes. As a result of this all competitions scheduled for May have been postponed or cancelled, we will keep the fixture list up to date with these changes. The Youth Development League has already made the decision to cancel all fixtures in 2020. For changes to open competitions you will need to look at the respective club’s website.
We have taken the decision to suspend membership renewals (which were due on the 1st April) until we have a date we can resume our activities. Once we can resume our activities, we will communicate renewal details then.
Please continue to follow the guidance about social distancing and staying at home, we will continue to issue activities and ideas through Facebook and Teamer to keep yourselves active at home during this period.
Stay safe and hopefully we will be back training soon!

This is not a message I wanted to write, but following the guidance issued by England Athletics this morning Bicester Athletics Club will suspend all activities with immediate effect. This includes training, competitions, presentation evenings, parent days and meetings until at least the end of April.
We will continue to monitor the guidance being issued and when we can resume activities we will, we will keep updated with any developments.
We ask you all to continue following hand washing guidelines and comply with the guidance being offered by the authorities.
We hope you all remain safe and well and hopefully we will see you soon.
Bicester AC Chairman.
I hope you are all well.
Just to let you all know that Tuesday’s circuit training and Wednesdays sporthall training will go ahead as planned. We will be asking athletes and coaches to wash their hands before entering the Sportshall and school gym, we will also be cleaning the equipment where practical to do so. Please can you let your children know we will be asking them to wash their hands, so they are not concerned we are doing something different.
If any athlete currently has a cold, cough or fever we request that they don’t come training.
We will make a decision about next weeks training at the weekend and communicate in due course. We will also make a decision about the presentation evening at the weekend.
As those of you effected will know both Burgess Hill and Wantage Sportshall competitions have been cancelled.
As you are aware this is a rapidly changing situation please keep tabs on our Facebook page, Teamer app and emails for changes at short notice.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
