Bicester AC’s Samuel Rayson produced a superb new personal best on his way to second place in the under 15 boy’s long jump at the Oxfordshire County Schools Track and Field Championships held last Sunday at Horspath.  Rayson’s leap of 5.31m was 29cms further than his previous best and was a national grade 3 mark.  It was a good weekend for Rayson as he was also victorious in the high jump clearing 1.60m.

Zacharia Singer produced a promising performance in the under 17 men’s 400 metres finishing 5th in a good time (57.3secs) in what was his first attempt at the distance in competition.  Erin Fabri finished 6th in a closely contested under 17 woman’s 200 metres (30.0secs) as well as finishing 4th in the Long Jump with 4.15m.  And Lucy McGrath, in what was only her 2nd competition on the track did well to finish 4th in the under 15 girl’s 1500 metres (5mins 26.7secs).

Bicester AC’s Isla Bohannon and Jenny Critchley competed in the Northants Schools County Schools Track and Field Championships held in Corby.  Bohannon’s efforts included a win in the under 15 girls 100 metres in 14.2secs.  She was also part of the winning team that won the 4 by 100 metre relay as well as producing a promising effort in the hammer throw (15.73secs).  Jenny Critchley finished 4th in the under 15 girl’s 800 metres (2mins 42.8secs)
