There was some stiff competition for Bicester’s younger athletes as they took part in the latest Oxford City AC Quad competition on 8th June which doubled up as the County Championships. There was a fantastic County bronze medal for under 9 Bicester athlete Charlotte Kavanagh which included 2nd places in the 75 metres (13.14sec) and Long jump (2.77m). Imogen Cox finished in the top ten in all of the events she contested which included a new personal best in the 600 metres of 2mins 28secs.

Although not in the County event, Millie Couzens was in fine form in the under 11 girl’s event taking 4th place out of the 46 competing athletes. She was second highest ranked in the 70 metres (11.72secs) and in the long jump (3.74m) which was also a new personal best mark. Her performances over the 4 events, which also included a very good 600 metre run (2mins 4 secs) gave her a silver ranking in the 10 step competition.

Couzens was well supported in the under 11 event by Amelia Cox who was 4th in the County event which included a new personal best mark of 3.49 metres in long jump as well as shooting to the top of the Bicester rankings with a throw of 22.90 metres in the howler. New personal best marks were also achieved by Freddie Taylor in the under 11 600 metres (2mins 2.7secs) and Michael Cadle in the long jump (3.41m)
