Bicester AC made the long journey to Telford for the latest round of the Heart of England Division 2 match. They found it hard going against tough competition but there were still some good performances to report. Once again Samuel Rayson excelled in the under 13 75 metre hurdles. Not only did he win, but once again set a new personal best of 13.0secs. Not only was this 0.1secs off a national grade 1 level performance but also propelled him to a top 30 placing in the current national rankings for his age group. Rayson was also a good 3rd in the Long Jump (4.09m) and placed 6th in the 100 metres.
The under 11 girls produced an outstanding effort to finish 2nd in the team standings for their age group. There was a double win in the Long Jump with Hollie Offord finishing 1st in the A string (3.25m) and Katie Groves 1st in the B (3.14m). Hollie Offord was also successful 2nd in the B Howler with a throw of 14.82m.
Although there was only three of them, the under 15 girls also equipped themselves well. Their best event was probably the Long Jump where Rushani Arumugham set a new personal best and national grade 4 mark of 4.65m to finish 1st with Tia Brown also winning the B event (4.05m). The same duo then combined to run two new personal bests in the 100 metres where they both ran 13.8 secs with Arumugham producing 29.5secs in the B event. Amber Parker did well to finish 2nd in the under 15 shot (7.91m) as well as placing 3rd in the discus (19.60m).
Georgia Usher set a new personal best mark of 5mins 23.5secs in the under 13 girl’s 1500 metres where she was 3rd. She equalled her personal best in the high jump in 2nd (1.25m). There was a good new personal best for Ruby Silvester in the under 13 girl’s shot where she was 2nd with 6.07m. The under 13 boys found wins hard to come by but Ben Groves finished runner up in the high jump with a grade 3 leap of 1.35m and the only other runner up placing was Michael Cadle’s 2nd in the B 75m hurdles (16.20m).
There was a splendid new personal best for Lauren Garside in the under 17 girls shot where she was 2nd with a putt of 8.62m. Edward Joliffe also produced a new personal best of 4.41m in the Long Jump where he was 4th.
