Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah contested his first ever 400m at the recent Milton Keynes Open Meeting. Placed in the fastest heat Appiahkorang-Mensah, who competes in the under 15 boy’s age group, finished a superb 3rd clocking 54mins 30secs, just over a second behind the under winner who competes in the under 20 men’s age group. There is no EA PB under 15 boy’s award level for 400m athletes but Appiahkorang-Mensah did achieve an under 17 men’s EA PB level 6 time for 400m and was under a second away from breaking the club record that has stood since 2007. Appiahkorang-Mensah also won his heat of the 100m in a new personal best and under 15 boy’s EA PB level 6 clocking of 12.5secs.
