Six Bicester AC athletes contested the recently held penultimate round of the Summer long Motavation Road Running Race series hosted by Kidlington Running Club.  The latest round was again staged at Coombe but on a different circuit that takes in two laps.  The course distance was slightly longer than the previous Coombe race estimated to be around 4.2miles.

With Owen Stocker absent on this occasion, an opening appeared for another Bicester runner to lead the team home.  The very much in form Joshau Moran got the better of a closely contested race with twin Isaac.  Joshua finished in a very commendable 38th clocking 26mins 05secs.  Isaac was not far behind placing 47th in 26mins 24secs.

Anna Jolliffe continues to perform strongly in the 19 women’s category.  She was again first under 19 women’s finisher at Coombe which was her 3rd win of the season.  She placed 65th clocking 27mins 44secs and was 6th lady finisher out of the 151 lady finishers.  Amy Gould made a fine Motavation debut running strongly for a place in the top 100 (88th) and a good clocking of 28mins 57secs.  Gould finished 12th out of the 151 lady finishers. Emily Benfield made a big improvement over her corresponding run in the same race last year.  Benfield finished in 307th and her time of 41mins 09secs was over two minutes faster than her 2023 effort.  And Joshua Bradley continues to show improvement as he finished just one place behind Benfield in 308th clocking 41mins 11secs.  Neither Benfield nor Bradley gave any inch away to club Chairman Paul Groves as they both held off a charging Groves who was 309th just a matter of seconds adrift of Bradley. However, this was Groves’s best performance in a Motavation race.
