Eight Bicester AC athletes contested the final round of the summer long Motavation road race series held at Stratfield Brake last Thursday. A large field of 371 runners contested the round 5 over an approximate 4 mile course.
It was a very successful evening for the Jolliffe siblings as Edward led the Bicester contingent in a fine 25th place clocking 22mins 40secs. This was an improvement in both time and position compared to his performance in the same race in 2023. There was a closely fought race between Bicester’s next two finishers with Joshua Moran finishing just ahead of Anna Jolliffe in 42nd place (23mins 59secs) with Anna Jolliffe credited with the same time in 43rd place. Jolliffe was the first lady finisher out of the 144 competing ladies, the second time in this year’s series that she has been first lady finisher. Jolliffe was easily first under 19 female finisher finishing over two minutes clear of the 2nd placed runner. Jolliffe was unbeaten in this category throughout the series and won the under 19 female series award.
