Six Bicester AC athletes took part in the May Oxford AC Open Meeting.  Django La Porte achieved a notable landmark becoming the first Bicester AC junior athlete to crack the magical 11 second barrier for 100m.  He managed this twice in one evening as the fastest athlete on the night setting a new under 20 men’s club record and EA PB level 9 time of 10.92secs in his first run of the evening.  Level 9 is the highest EA standard.  He then followed this up with another EA level 9 clocking of 10.98secs, which was also inside the previous club record mark.  Bicester had three other athletes contesting the 100m with Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah 5th in his heat in a new personal best of 12.47secs, Oliver Jarvey 6th in his heat clocking 11.45secs with sister Grace recording the same time for 7th place in her heat. Grace Jarvey also contested the long jump where she jumped to a season’s best of 3.99m for 11th place but she was just pipped by teammate Yasmine Sheppard who was 10th with a new best of 4.00m.  Grace Jarvey’s brother, Oliver, also contested the long jump where he finished 9th with an under 13 boy’s EA PB level mark of 4.07m.  Max Finnegan was Bicester’s other competitor on the night and he finished 3rd in his heat of the 800m with 2mins 29.64secs.
