The second Oxford City AC quadkids competition took place last Sunday at Horspath.  Bicester AC’s Jack Green is having a quite outstanding season and he beat 31 other athletes to take overall 1st place in the under 11 boy’s quad competition.  Although he did not achieve a top ranking in any individual event, it was his performances over the four events which enabled him to triumph.  This is included three new personal bests.  Perhaps his most surprising best was in the long jump where he leapt to a new best of 3.74m, which represented a marked improvement on his previous best jumps.  His highest point score was in the 600 metres where his time of 1mins 55.52secs was the 3rd best time of the day and only a second away from the club record.  Green’s other personal best was in the 75m (11.65secs) and these three events along with the howler (31.59m), where he threw the 3rd longest throw, was enough for overall first.

Joel Hodges was 24th but achieved two top ten individual places in the 75 metres, with a clocking of 11.4secs, which was only just short of his best, and long jump (3.42m).  There was a third place for Alexa Brady, making her competitive debut in the under 9 girl’s competition.  This included a good long jump (2.60m) which was the furthest leap on the day. Bicester AC had two competitors in the under 11 girl’s competition and both were closely matched with Charlotte Hornby just getting the better of Erin Horseman in 18th and 19th places respectively.  Hornby achieved a number of personal bests on the day whilst Horseman was making her debut in the quad events.
