Four Bicester AC athletes took part in the Oxford City AC June Open track and field meeting. Georgia Bower made a rare outing in heat 5 of the 200m and smashed her previous best with 2nd place and a new best of 27.99secs, which was an under 17 women’s EA PB level 5 time. Bower was also in good form in the long jump equalling her season’s best with an EA PB level 6 leap of 4.96m which placed her 6th out of the 15 competitors.
There were 7 heats of the 100m with the two Bicester competitors placed in heat 6. In the event they dominated proceedings with Yasmine Sheppard taking first place in a new best of 13.97secs ahead of teammate Grace Jarvey who was 2nd in 14.23secs. Bicester’s other competitor George Hart contested the 2nd heat of the 1500 metres and finished 3rd in heat 2 in a season’s best time of 4mins 35.81secs.
