Six Bicester AC athletes took part in the Oxford City Midweek Open meeting held on 22 May.  The wet conditions were hardly conducive to fast times.   There was a personal best for Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah who finished 5th in heat 3 of the 100m (12.97secs) clocking his first ever sub 13 secs 100m time.  He was also 2nd out of the 4 competing athletes in the 80m hurdles clocking 13.48secs.

Georgia Bower has been in superb form recently in the long jump and she again competed well to take 3rd  and was the leading female jumper in her pool with a leap of 4.61m.  Emily Benfield also finished well up in 4th place with 4.27m.

There were two further Bicester athletes in heat 5 with the Jarvey siblings drawn in the same heat.  It was the more experienced Grace who got the better of proceedings on this occasion finishing 4th (14.14secs).  Oliver had to be content with 6th place (14.78secs) in what was only his 2nd attempt at the distance.

George Hart was competing in only his 2nd track meet of the Summer and he contested heat 2 of the 800m clocking a decent looking 2mins 19.02secs for 6th place.
