Two Bicester AC runners contested the recently held Oxford Half Marathon which is run within the confines of the city of Oxford. The event attracted over 9,500 runners and was won in a competitive 65mins 18secs. Noah Gulvin, who competes in the under 20 men’ age group, was towards the younger end of those competing. Gulvin was competing in his first half marathon and ran a well judged race with slightly quicker 5km splits as the race proceeded. He placed 958th clocking a decent looking 95mins 33secs for the half marathon distance. Bicester AC’s other runner, Andrew Kelly, had not competed before in Bicester colours. He did well to finish 5,850th in 2mins 8.46secs and whilst slowing a little in the second half of the race Kelly still picked up places throughout the race.
There were also quite a few Bicester AC runners contesting the school’s run which was run in conjunction with the main race. This was good experience for those who ran although there were no placings as such.
