Bicester Athletic Club’s Sportshall teams started the 2018/19 season’s campaign with an excellent and exciting first match of the Oxfordshire Sportshall League season at the Bicester Leisure Centre. With many of athletes making their debuts for the team there were many excellent performances.
The under11girls obstacle relay team of Amber Busby, Lilly Beaugrand, Annie-Rose Willis, and Bethany Wetton got the team off to a fine start with an excellent 2nd place. Jessica Garside, Kristin Senior, Jasmine Hendon, and Olivia Naidu-Johnson took 1st place in the 1 lap races. Garside, Willis, Wetton, and Isabelle Webb bounced to 1st place in the speed bounce competition. The girls rounded off their match with 1st place in the 4 x 1 lap relays. The team finish the match in 1st place.
Kyle Rayson, Joel Hodges, Jack Green, and Isaac Hendon took 1st place in the 1 lap races for the under 11 boys. Rayson, and George Mansell jumped to 2nd place in the vertical jump. Hendon, Simon Cheeseman, Flynn Topliss, and Roman Haverly bounced to 3rd place in the speed bounce. With team member Stanley Critchley the team took 3rd place overall just 1 point behind the joint winners Banbury and Witney.
For the under 13 boys team Django La Porte, Kian Brown, Kai Kinsella-Miles, and Ethan Lock took 1st place in the obstacle relay. Kinsella-Miles and Alex Nicoladies jumped to 1st place in the vertical jump. The team finished their match with 1st place in the 4 x 2 laps relay, and 1st place overall.
Isla Bohannon and Hollie Offord ran to 1st place in the 2 laps races. Bohannon and Alexia Evans took 1st place in the tough 4 laps races. Freya McGinley and Jenny Critchley threw to 2nd place in the shot putt. The team took 1st place in the 4 x 2 lap relay, and finished in 2nd place overall.
The under 15 teams were in good form. For the boys team Sam Rayson took 1st places in the standing long jump, and the shot putt. Ben Groves finished in 2nd places in the standing triple jump, 4 laps, and also the speed bounce. Michael Cadle threw the shot putt to 3rd place, and also took 3rd place in the 4 laps. Ciaran Flynn bounced to 3rd place in the speed bounce with Luiz Oliveira taking 4th place. The boys took 1st place in the 4 x 2 laps relay, and 1st place overall. Erin Fabri jumped to 1st place in the standing long jump for the girls team . Emilia Sims bounced to 1st place in the speed bounce. Izzy Buckley jumped to 3rd place in the vertical jump. Amber Parker took 1st place in the shot putt. With Amy Willis and Ruby Silvester the girls took 1st place in the 4 x 2 lap relay. The girls finished in 2nd place overall.
