Three Bicester AC athletes contested the Oxon and Bucks Midweek Open track and field meeting held last Wednesday at Horspath. There were eight heats of the 100 metres with runners put into heats based on previous times. George Weston found himself in the fastest heat won by a Swansea athlete in a sub 11 second time. This was Weston’s maiden effort of the season so he performed well to clock his 3rd fastest ever time over the distance (12.01secs). Weston also ran in the fastest heat of the 200 metres clocking 24.35secs.
Amaya Lewis was Bicester’s other competitor in the 100 metres. This was her first ever athletes meet for Bicester so she did very well to finish 5th in her heat of the 100 metres with a respectable sub 16secs clocking (15.94). Like Weston, Lewis took in a heat of the 200 metres where she finished 5th clocking 32.81secs.
Amber Busby was Bicester’s other competitor finishing 4th in her heat of the 800 metres in what was her second best ever clocking of 2mins 51.24secs.
