Bicester AC athletes enjoyed a mixed evening of fortunes as they contested the latest Oxon and Buck’s open track and field midweek meeting held last Wednesday at Horspath.  Georgia Bower added a further centimetre to her long jump best as she produced the longest jump of the evening by an under 15 girl with a national grade 4  and EA level 6 mark of 4.65m.  She also contested a heat of the 100m clocking 13.63secs. 

Grace Jarvey has been in superb form this year over 200m and ran a superb new best in finishing 2nd  in her heat of the 100m clocking 14.06m.  Jarvey also competed in the long jump (4.02m) and the 200m where she was 4th in her heat (29.33secs).   

There was a good contingent of Bicester athletes in the heats of the 1,500 metres.  Noah Gulvin, in his first competitive track race of the season, ran a new best of 4mins 35.13s with Owen Stocker clocking 4mins 50.97secs in the same heat.  The much improved George Hart ran in heat 2 of the 1500 metres and finished a creditable 5th (4mins 52.32secs) with Anna Jolliffe further back in 11th with a season’s best of 5mins 9.83secs.

Kyle Rayson ran his second fastest ever 100m as he finished 2nd in is his heat of the 100m clocking 12.31 secs.  Rayson also competed in the long jump (5.01m).  Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah went down in distance placing 2nd in his heat of the 200m with another sub 27secs clocking (26.89secs).  Appiahkorang -Mensah also competed in the long jump (4.58m).  Also competing in the long jump was Bicester’s Emily Benfield who was 10th in her heat with 4.16m.
