There was a small but select turnout of 5 athletes for the recent Oxon and Bucks Midweek Open meeting held at Horspath. Georgia Bower was a very good 4th out of a field of 19 competitors in one of the two long jumps contested. She produced her second best ever leap of 4.56m which was both a national grade 4 and EA level 6 mark. Bower also contested a competitive heat of the 100m along with teammate Naomi Ejiogu. It was Ejiogu who came off best with a national grade 4 and EA level 5 clocking of 13.00 secs for 3rd with Bower finishing 8th (13.67secs).
Django La Porte contested the hottest heat finishing 4th and once again broke 12 secs with a national grade 4 and EA level 5 clocking of 11.73secs which was his 2nd fastest ever time. The one Bicester AC personal best on the night was set by Earlgean Appiakhornag-Mensah in the 800m where he finished 2nd in a competitive field of 8 athletes with a national grade 4 clocking of 2mins 17.34secs. And Emily Benfield finished 6th in her heat of the long jump equalling her seasonal best of 4.31m.
