Six Bicester AC athletes competed in the recent Oxfordshire Schools Track and Field Championships held at Horspath.  There was a win for Erlgean Appiahkorang-Mensah in what was a competitive field for the under 15 boy’s 800m.  Appiahkorang-Mensah produced an EA PB level 7 time of 2mins 8.1secs.  He doubled up to finish 2nd in the 8m hurdles in a new personal best time of 12.80secs which was an EA PB level 6 performance.

Georgia Bower was Bicester AC’s other winner taking the under 17 woman’s long jump with a fine EA PB level 5 leap of 4.87m which was just 5cms short of her best.  Bower was also 3rd in the 100m sprint (13.4secs).

Kate O’ Malley set a new club record in the under 15 girl’s 1500 metre steeplechase in what was her debut run in the event.  O’Malley clocked 6 mins 34.2secs.  There was also a new best in the under 15 boy’s 1500 metres for Darragh Cassidy as he finished 3rd in an EA PB level 5 time of 4mins 42.3secs.

Kyle Rayson produced a superb jump in the under 17 men’s long jump.  Rayson leapt to a new best of 5.66m which was a EA PB level 5 performance for 3rd place.  Rayson was also 4th in the shot with a new best putt of 9.43m.  And Django La Porte equalled his own club record clocking an EA PB level 6 time 11.3secs for 2nd in the under 20 men’s 100m.
