Last Saturday Bicester AC had a good number of athletes out for the Radley Open Meeting, held at Tilsley Park, which is likely to be one of the final Oxfordshire Track and Field meetings of the season.  It is testament to their fitness levels that athletes were still able to improve on previous bests despite this meeting being towards the tail end of the season.

Kyle McCleod produced an outstanding run in the 200m finishing 2nd in his heat and clocking 25.58secs, which is the fastest 200m of the season from a Bicester under 15 male.  This was also national grade 4 time and was 0.6secs faster than McCleod had previously run for the distance.  McCleod also won his heat of the 100m (13.15secs) and also produced a new best in the long jump jumping 4.61m for 7th.  Teammate Lincoln Jones finished runner up with a leap of 5.34m.

Isla Wooding was an impressive winner of an all under 13 girl’s heat of the 70m hurdles and was rewarded with a new best of 13.65secs her first ever sub 13secs clocking.  Wooding has lowered her personal best by over 2 seconds over the season.  Wooding also threw 12.97m in what was her first ever javelin competition.  There were also wins for Olivia Naidu-Johnson in her heat of the 100m (11.6secs) as well as the long jump (3.69m).  Amber Busby won the shot put with 6.11m and competed in her 15th 800m of the Summer (2mins 50.34secs).
