I hope you are all well.
I cannot believe I am sending this type of mail for the second time in my first year as chairman. As you are all well aware we are entering a second lockdown tomorrow (5th Nov) and despite England Athletics’ best efforts in trying to lobby the culture secretary, it has now been confirmed that all athletics activities indoors and out must stop until restrictions are lifted (https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/new-guidance-announced-for-athletics-and-running-following-latest-national-lockdown-restrictions/).
So, to comply with this guidance I am sorry to say that all Bicester AC training activities are suspended until the lockdown is eased, which hopefully will be from the 2nd of December.
We would like our athletes to stay active during this lockdown with home training, we have a number of training sessions and training ideas available at the following links:
Bicester AC Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1D37FORV30ImQct4YWSakg/featured
If any of our members would like a personalised running session you can contact Emma and Rich at: https://www.bicesterac.co.uk/contact-forms/cross-country-contact/
If you have any questions about circuits or any other questions please contact me at: https://www.bicesterac.co.uk/contact-forms/chair-contact/
Also don’t forget we have the blue lines around Bicester, which are 5k circular routes https://www.cherwell.gov.uk/downloads/download/1154/health-routes-in-bicester
A lot of our coaches and volunteers are still working during this lockdown but we will try and set some challenges and ideas on our Facebook page.
When activities resume availability invites will be sent out through Teamer and confirmation emails will then be sent out by the session coordinators.
Please keep tabs on our communication outlets for further updates.Stay safe and well, hopefully we will be training again soon.
