Leo Blyton made his England debut in the recently held SIAB Schools Cross Country International cross country event held in Falkirk.  And it was England who came out on top in this annual competition between the home countries winning all 4 team titles.  The course was undulating with plenty of twists and turns and an unforgiving camber.

Blyton came up against the all Ireland Schools Champion, Darragh Whelan in the 31 strong field that contested the under 15 boy’s race run over 4km and both Whelan and Blyton broke clear early on.  Whelan eventually ran out the winner with a winning time of 12mins 58secs with Blyton finishing 2nd in 13mins 10secs.  Blyton had the consolation of leading home the successful English team who were 17 points clear of 2nd placed Ireland.
