Three Bicester AC athletes were selected to represent Oxfordshire at last weekend’s prestigious South of England Under15/17 Inter Counties Championships held at the Horspath Stadium. 

Lincoln Jones has performed superbly in what is his first track and field season.  Despite being in the first year of his age group, Jones attained a superb 4th in the under 15 boy’s long jump with a new best of 5.56m.  This was just inside the national grade 2 long jump ranking and is the 9th best under 15 boy’s long jump in the South East and 4th best under 15 year 1 jump.

Naoimi Ejiogu is also in her first track and field season and she performed superbly in the under 15 girl’s long jump finishing in 7th place with a new best and national grade 3 mark of 4.91m.  In the process Ejiogu broke the long existing Bicester AC under 15 girl’s club record of 4.85m which had stood since 2004.  Ejiogu’s effort places her 10th in the under 15 girl South East long jump rankings.

Kyle Rayson ran his best ever time in the under 15 boy’s 80m hurdles.  Qualifying for the final Rayson finished 6th with 12.19secs, which was 0.31secs inside his previous best time. but the following wind was just over the legal limit.  His time was inside the national 2 ranking for the under 15 boy’s 80m hurdles.
