There are two types of athletics competitions league and open.

League Competitions:

As a club we enter 3 leagues in the summer, Heart of England (HOE), Youth Development (YDL) and Oxfordshire Junior (OJL), each league has 3 fixtures. For each fixture teams selected based on the teamer responses. The HOE is for U11 to U17, YDL is for U13 & U15 and OJL is for U9 to U20.

U9s & U11s teams will be selected and managed on the day by Claire and Clyde Goodwin

U13s and up teams will be selected by the coaches and managed on the day by a team of parent volunteers.

We are still looking for more parents to assist with managing the U13 and up at competitions.

Teamer invites will be sent out at least 4 weeks before a fixture with a respond by date of 2 weeks before. Once the teams have been selected a confirmation email will be sent.

More information about the leagues can be found here: Track & Field | Bicester Athletic Club (

Open Competitions:

These are stand alone competitions that you enter yourself, generally club officials do not attend open meetings. These events are often graded meetings meaning for track events you will be running against athletes of similar ability.

Open meetings are a great way of gaining extra experience and confidence in track and field events.
