Bicester AC broke new ground in the under 20/17 age groups as they combined with Witney Road Runners to field a team in the first round match of the UK Youth Development League Midlands North East Division 1A match held last Sunday in Warwick. Competition was fierce and the team placed 5th out of the 6 competing teams. However there was a number of personal bests amongst the 8 competing Bicester athletes.
One of the most impressive Bicester performers on the day was Holly Hunter. Not only did she win the under 17 girl’s steeplechase, in her first ever attempt at the discipline, Hunter also broke the club record in the javelin finishing 3rd in the A event with 28.01 metres. Hunter also set a new personal best in A hammer with a throw of 19.93m whilst clubmate Amy Gould was also in personal best form in the B event (16.17m).
