Ben West was in scintillating form in last Saturday’s BMC Grand Prix held in Watford. BMC hold periodically a series of races throughout Summer for elite middle distance athletes including international class runners. West not only produced his best ever run for the 1500 metres but achieved a significant milestone by breaking the 4 minute barrier for the first time with an outstanding 3mins 57.78secs. West has now moved up to 35th in the under 20 male national rankings for 1500 metres and is currently the 14th fastest for his age in the country. West’s time only just fell short of the under 20 national grade 2 standard for 1500 metres.
