Bicester AC finished 5th in the latest round of their UK Development Athletics League Lower Age Group Midlands Division 1C match held last Sunday in Banbury.

Once again Amber Parker had a fine weekend with a double first in the throwing events.  Parker threw a massive national grade 4 throw of 28.62m to win the under 15 girl’s hammer, just falling short of her club record mark achieved earlier in the season.  Parker’s other win came in the discus, where she threw 24.19m, as well as taking 4th in the javelin (19.74m).

It was another good weekend for Samuel Rayson.  He was victorious in the under 15 boy’s high jump with a new personal best and grade 4 leap of 1.57m.  Rayson also set another personal best in the 200 metres where he was 3rd (27.6secs) as well as finishing 3rd in the 80m hurdles (14.1secs).  Freya McGinlay was also impressive setting a new personal best and national grade 4 effort of 6.75m in the under 13 girl’s shot where she was 2nd.  McGinlay also ran the fastest 150 metres by a Bicester girl this season in winning the B string with 22.83secs as well as finishing 4th in the 75 metres (11.6s).

Hollie Offord set a new personal in the under 13 girl’s long jump with a 3.91m leap.  Offord also gained the team valuable points by stepping in to finish 2nd in the B 1200 metres (5mins 12.2secs) as well as finishing 5th in the 150 metres (23.03secs).  There was another grade 4 effort for Emily Horing in the under 13 girl’s javelin finishing 4th with 15.62m which was also a personal best.  She was well supported by Anna Couzens who was 3rd in the B string (12.61m) and Couzens set a new personal best time of 3mins 3.6secs in the 800m for 4th with Horing finishing 2nd in the B event (3m 12.5s).

Amy Willis is making great strides in the under 15 girl’s Long Jump and set a new personal best of 4.36m for 3rd place.  She was supported by clubmate Erin Fabri who took the B string 3.98m.  Fabri also ran a season’s best in the 200 metres (29.7secs).  There was a personal best for Ben Groves in the 100 metres (14.0secs) as well as a 4th place in the Long Jump (4.23m).

Georgia Usher took 2nd in the under 15 girl’s high jump with 1.25m.  And there were personal bests for Jennifer Critchley in the under 13 girl’s 1200 metres and Katie Groves in the under 13 girl’s shot (4.84m).  Lewis Standage and Carlo Niedzielski made their debuts in the under 13 boy’s age group..  Django La Porte set a new personal best time of 15.8s in the 75m hurdles and Kian Brown finished 3rd in the under 13 boy’s javelin also with a new personal best throw of 9.99m.
