Bicester AC were quite competitive in their recent Midlands North East B UK Youth Development League match but ultimately had to settle for 4th place. However there were a string of personal bests with no less than 31 set as well as 5 A string wins.
William Cleaver achieved three of the above A string wins in the boy’s under 15 competition. Having his first outing of the season Cleaver won the high jump with an EA PB level 5 leap of 1.48m, which was also a new best. Cleaver putted over 7 metres in winning the shot with a new best of 7.25m. Cleaver also won the javelin, but his winning throw of 27.8 fell just short of his best. Finley Harrell set a new best of 29.50secs for 5th in the 200m and equalled his best in the 100m of 14.4secs where he also finished 5th. And Emeras Mohandes finished 3rd in the 800m (3mins 24.20secs) as well as setting a new best in the 100m for 4th in the B string (15.30secs).
Bicester AC fielded a strong team in the under 13 boy’s team with all but one of their A string performers achieving top three places with 13 new bests and a new club record. The under 13 girl’s team were in good form where the majority of performances were personal bests. Their one A string win came from Ava Obina who was making her track and field debut. Obina produced a superb leap of 1.15m to win the high jump. She also produced an EA PB level 5 mark of 3.50m in finishing 3rd in the A long jump.
