Just three Bicester AC athletes made the journey to Tamworth for Sunday’s first round of their Lower age group UK Development League Midland North East Division B fixture where they finished 5th . 

Georgia Bower was in prime form with a superb new best and win in the under 15 girl’s long jump.  Her winning performance of 4.29m was a level 5 performance in the new English Athletic standards.  Bower also ran a new best in the 200m with a level 5 clocking of 29.5secs for 4th and she was also 4th in the 100m with a level 4 clocking of 13.9secs.

Kate O’ Malley, fresh from a busy cross country season made her track and field debut.  She performed well in the under 15 girl’s B string long jump to finish 3rd with a level 2 standard jump of 3.53m.   She also ran in the 75m hurdles clocking 16.7secs for 4th place and finished 4th in 1,500 metres (7mins 10.8secs).  Cameron Waters produced a decent clocking in his first ever 800m placing 5th in the under 13 boy’s event clocking 3mins 06.secs.  Waters also competed in the shot where he was 4th with a best putt of 4.38m, just 1cm off 3rd place.
