Young Leader

At Bicester AC we aim encourage and support any young person who wishes to try some volunteering at the club. This can be athletes or non-athletes; no previous experience or training is needed. Both young people and the club can benefit from Young Volunteers, with additional help provided to the club during training sessions and events, and also key hard and soft skill development for the young individuals to put on a CV, university applications and used throughout their lives.

We have two programs set up to ensure excellent support and guidance for our Young Volunteers, suitable to any level of commitment, experience, aspiration and varying interests.

Young Leaders

This popular program is designed to allow volunteers aged 14-18 to have a go at volunteering and coaching with the opportunity to develop as a coach and/ or official. Volunteers can help all year round, at training (Wednesday indoor, 1st session is popular), competitions and a selection of events BAC runs each year.

‘Coach mentors’, paid coach and official education courses and target setting are all provided on this pathway

If you are interested in becoming a Young Leader please contact Tom Gould HERE.

For those less sure about a passion for athletics coaching and officiating, we offer a more general volunteering program. Ideal for those looking for DofE volunteer placements. With support from coaches, volunteers have the choice to help in many different roles to help the club during training sessions and events. A DofE assessor from the club can be assigned and help fill in the final report on completion of their volunteering. If these volunteers found a particular interest for volunteering, they can always move onto the Young Leader pathway either during or after their DofE.

If you are interested volunteering at BAC for your DofE please contact Tom Gould HERE.
